HeartCode Hybrid ACLS Skills Check Off

This course is designed for healthcare professionals who direct or manage cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies; personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care, and critical care units; physicians, nurses, and paramedics; and others who need an ACLS Certification Card. The course adopts a blended learning format for the ACLS certification. The online section is conducted through the AHA online HeartCode ACLS Course, allowing participants the flexibility to complete it at a pace that suits them. After finishing the online modules, participants engage in a practical skills session led by an AHA Instructor.

Please note that registration for this Skills Check Off Course does not include the online didactic course, and needs to be purchased separately.

Steps to take: 

  1. Purchase and complete the HeartCode ACLS didactic course at: https://shopcpr.heart.org/heartcode-acls (Product Number 20-3554). 
  2. Print the course completion certificate and bring it to the scheduled in-person skills check session.
  3. Attend In-Person Skills Check Off session with an AHA  Instructor.

 

This course can be completed for both ACLS certification or renewal, but is NOT recommended for first time ACLS participants.

 

You are required to have the current manual for this course. The ACLS Provider Manual eBook (20-3100) is included with the purchase of the online HeartCode ACLS Course. Students will be able to access the manual from within the course during the in-person skills checkoff. A reference card is available for purchase, but it is not required.

Employees using the employee code for an AHA course must be within a 6-month window of expiration.
