2026 Maternal Child Health Conference

Denver Health employees are welcome to join us for the 2026 Maternal Child Health Conference. This conference is hosted by the Pavilion C Clinical Nurse Educators. This year’s conference will highlight six exceptional speakers presenting on various maternal child health topics and more!

You will hear from our very own Chair of OBGYN, Dr. Stefka Fabbri, Pediatric Clinical Care Medicine Physician, Dr. Katie Walsh, Chief Medical Education Officer, Dr. Abraham Nussbaum, speakers from Hard Beauty, Colorado Perinatal Care Quality Collaborative, and Aspen Miracle Center!

ACLS with BLS Full/Initial Certification

The American Heart Association's Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Course is meticulously designed for healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest and other cardiovascular emergencies. This course builds on the foundation of lifesaving basic life support (BLS) skills, with an emphasis on high-performance team dynamics, communication, systems of care, and immediate post-cardiac arrest care. ACLS also covers airway management and related pharmacology. Upon successful completion of the course, including a skills test and a written exam, participants will receive an ACLS Course Completion Card from the American Heart Association, valid for two years. Course registration also includes Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. 

Before participating in the class, it is mandatory for students to complete a pre-course self-assessment. 

 

 

ACLS with BLS Renewal

The American Heart Association's Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Course is meticulously designed for healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest and other cardiovascular emergencies. Pre-course preparation is required and includes a self-assessment.

This course is for students with a non-expired ACLS Certification Card issued by the AHA. If your ACLS Certification Card has expired or you have never attend an ACLS class, you are not eligible to attend the renewal course. Students must provide a copy of a current unexpired ACLS Certification Card. 

 

Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN)

Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN) is an advanced course designed for the registered nurse interested in increasing his/her knowledge in management of the multiple trauma patient. The course is taught concurrently with the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Advanced Trauma Life Support® (ATLS).

The ATCN program has been operational for more than 25 years and has an excellent record of offering a superb trauma educational program, and maintaining a positive collaboration with the ACS Committee on Trauma State Chapters.

The nurse participants audit the ATLS lectures. During the ATLS skill and testing stations, the nurses are separated from the physician group and directed through ATCN skill stations. ATCN Skill stations include:

  • Initial Assessment and Management
  • Airway and Ventilatory Management
  • Pediatric Trauma
  • Hemorrhagic Shock
  • Musculoskeletal & Spinal Trauma
  • Head Trauma

The Skill Stations are based on an interactive "hands-on: scenario-based approach" to adult education. The practical testing stations allow the ATCN students to demonstrate the application of ATLS and ATCN information on a moulaged patient. Participants receive both a ATCN manual and an ATLS manual.

Education Credit

The Society of Trauma Nurses is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. The ATCN Student Course has been awarded 17.5 contact hours.

Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN) Hybrid

The ATCN Hybrid Course is an alternative option to the traditional 2-day ATCN Student Course. Students choosing to take the Hybrid Option will be required to complete the full complement of online mATLS Learning Modules. After successful completion of the mATLS modules, the student must then complete the ATCN skills stations, skills test, and written examination in a classroom setting. The classroom portion of the ATCN Hybrid Course is completed in 1 day. The ATCN Hybrid Course has been approved for 19 continuing education hours.

  • Initial Assessment and Management
  • Airway and Ventilatory Management
  • Pediatric Trauma
  • Hemorrhagic Shock
  • Musculoskeletal & Spinal Trauma
  • Head Trauma

The American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Course aligns with the 2020 AHA Guidelines for CPR & ECC, focusing on high-quality CPR, AED use, and basic respiratory management. Participants will learn critical skills, including high-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants, use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), effective ventilation techniques, and how to manage choking in patients of all ages. Emphasis is on the Chain of Survival and the importance of quick, effective response in emergency situations. Upon successful completion of the course, including a skills test and a written exam, participants will receive an American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Course Completion Card, valid for two years.

BLS Healthcare Provider CPR/AED: This course is for initial BLS Certification or those who have an expired BLS Certification.

Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC)

This in person one-and-a-half-day course designed to provide the core-level pediatric knowledge and skills needed to properly assess and implement evidence-based interventions to improve outcomes for this high-risk patient population.

The Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) is a course developed by the Emergency Nurses Association to enable nurses to provide high-quality care for this unique patient population.

The goal of ENPC is to improve pediatric patient outcomes by providing nurses with foundational knowledge, skills, and a systematic Pediatric Nursing Process (PNP) to guide patient care.

Education credit: 17.5 hours via the ENA once the course is complete

HeartCode Complete RQI BLS/CPR

The American Heart Association® (AHA) HeartCode® programs offer top-tier resuscitation training with flexible scheduling, integrating online learning and hands-on skills sessions.

HeartCode® Complete represents advanced training, utilizing the Simulation Station for comprehensive Basic Life Support (BLS) courses. Learners progress at their own pace through any learning management system. This method ensures consistent, high-quality training tailored to individual learning speeds, with courses available in two-year cycles for certification renewal.

Once the non-refundable payment is received through Enrollware, we have up to three days to enter your information into the AHA HeartCode Complete Program as we do not receive the payment instantly.

This course is non-refundable. 

HeartCode Complete RQI Enrollment Information

This is not a course registration form; it is a form to request more information. The HeartCode course fees will be sent to you in a separate email.

HeartCode® Complete offers the next step in resuscitation training with the use of the an online course and a simulation station. HeartCode Complete allows learners to fully complete their AHA BLS, ACLS or PALS training at their own pace.

HeartCode Hybrid ACLS Skills Check Off

This course is designed for healthcare professionals who direct or manage cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies; personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care, and critical care units; physicians, nurses, and paramedics; and others who need an ACLS Certification Card. The course adopts a blended learning format for the ACLS certification. The online section is conducted through the AHA online HeartCode ACLS Course, allowing participants the flexibility to complete it at a pace that suits them. After finishing the online modules, participants engage in a practical skills session led by an AHA Instructor. This course does not include BLS/CPR.

Please note that registration for this Skills Check Off Course does not include the online didactic course, and needs to be purchased separately.

Steps to take: 

  1. Purchase and complete the HeartCode ACLS didactic course at: https://shopcpr.heart.org/heartcode-acls (Product Number 20-3554). 
  2. Print the course completion certificate and bring it to the scheduled in-person skills check session.
  3. Attend In-Person Skills Check Off session with an AHA  Instructor.

 This course can be completed for both ACLS certification or renewal, but is NOT recommended for first time ACLS participants.

 

HeartCode Hybrid BLS/CPR Skills Check Off

This course is designed for healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of hospital and pre-hospital settings. It utilizes a blended learning approach for the BLS certification, and can be done for an intital and renewal certification.The online component is facilitated through the online AHA HeartCode BLS Course, offering participants flexibility to complete the course at their preferred pace. After finishing the online modules, participants proceed to an In-Person Skills Check Off session with an AHA Instructor.

Please note that registration for this Skills Check Off Course does not include the online didactic course, and needs to be purchased separately.

Steps to take:

Heartsaver CPR/AED

The AHA Heartsaver CPR AED Course is designed for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements. This course is a instructor-led course that teaches adult and child CPR and AED use, infant CPR, and how to relieve choking in adults, children, and infants. This course teaches skills with the AHA’s research-proven practice-while-watching technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback, and guide the students’ learning of skills. Heartsaver CPR AED Certification Card, is valid for two years.

PALS and BLS Renewal

The American Heart Association's Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Course, which includes Basic Life Support (BLS), is intended for healthcare professionals delivering care to critically ill infants and children. It emphasizes early recognition and intervention in pediatric emergencies, integrating BLS techniques such as effective chest compressions and AED use. The course covers pediatric assessment, resuscitation team dynamics, airway management, pharmacology, and post-resuscitation care. Successful participants receive a PALS and BLS certification cards, valid for two years. Course registration also includes Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. 

Pre-course preparation is required and includes a self-assessment on ECG rhythm recognition and pharmacology.

This course is for students with a non-expired PALS Certification Card issued by the AHA. If your PALS Certification Card has expired or you have never attending a PALS class you are not eligible for this renewal course. Students must provide a copy of a current unexpired PALS Certification Card.

PALS with BLS Full/Initial Certification
